It is soooooooooooo easy!

I noticed that some children came in without scarves, As it is getting COLD, I thought it would be interesting and rewarding for our children to make something by themselves, and actually wear them;  rather than go to a store and buy the genenric brands.
So this morning , I measured my students height, then I explained to them that we would go to Joann fabric store, pick out their favorite fleece and make a special custom made scarf. It was such a gratifying moment  to see our bright and energetic kids walk smartly into the store. The children were overwhelmed to find so many varieties! They chose their fabric and went to get it measured and cut . When they approached the sales person, each of them said, " hi I am 47" tall "or whatever they were, and saw their fabric being measured and then cut, they were ecstatic! When we returned back to school , the kids measured the ends of their scarves, depending on how many inches of tassle they wanted. They cut strips out and Voila! ... their scarf was ready to wear. David, Quinn and Amelia said, "it is sooooooooo easy to make ".They would not let go of their prized possesion!
